PRESIDENT Awadhesh Bhargava was elected as the President of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), the largest journalist organization of India, in 2021, whose term ended in January 2023. On 13 March 2024, he was re-elected as the President in the general meeting of the Federation in Ayodhya. Awadhesh Bhargava’s tenure as President was completed till December 2025 Born on 22 May 1952 in Janjgir town of the then Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, Awadhesh Bhargava received his postgraduate degree in Political Science from Bhopal University in 1972.
“Since 1982, writer and journalist Awadhesh Bhargava broadcasts his own YouTube channel named State Today. In Madhya Pradesh, he is known as a debate panelist in national and regional news channels. He has held the position of editor in many regional newspapers.
“Since 1985, he has been actively involved in various journalist organizations, Pradesh Patrakar Sangh, Ganesh Vidyarthi Press Club, Madhya Pradesh Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh, M.P.
Working Journalist Union, AISA and has fought for the interests of journalists by holding various positions. Bhargava has participated in conferences organized at many places in Chennai, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Haridwar, Guwahati, Jammu, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Calcutta, Patna, Goa, New Delhi etc.
under the aegis of Indian Federation of Working Journalists. During Bhargava’s tenure, many big conferences and workshops of journalists have been organized including Sitarganj, Jaipur, Javra in Madhya Pradesh, Panjim in Goa, Vijayawada in Andhra and Noida in NCR and Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Badrinath in Uttarakhand.
Currently, a conference of about 200 journalists is being organized in Kathmandu, the capital of neighboring country Nepal, from 10 to 15 June 2024. About 150 journalists from India are participating in this conference.
